Simplify your life – next steps to a book

in Simplify your life 2012

It has been 18 months since I launched the simplify your life challenge for 2012. Amazing really!

My intention when I set out for those 52 weeks was always to take what I learned and develop it into a book. I will admit I had fantasies of a publisher coming calling and taking my oh so brilliant idea and turning it into the next big thing to hit bookshelves.

Well that did not happen.

The beauty of being alive in this era is that I don’t have to wait for a publisher to turn it into something special. I can do that all by myself – well with a little help from my friends online.

I have already started writing my books.

I decided to break it down and expand it the way I always wanted to – go deeper and wider on all the important topics. Add in my stories, what I learned through the last two years, insights and inspiration to help others simplify their lives.

There will be a main book full of the simplifying from the inside out core materials (expanded and developed).

There will then be eguides on additional topics that you can add on as you want to tackle them.

This is not simply a case of packaging up blog posts. The content is being thoroughly expanded on, new things added, worksheets and journal exercises.  It will be a truly go at your own pace journey to simplifying your life your way.

I am so excited, but also putting myself under a little pressure as I set myself a deadline to launch on my second blog anniversary which is August 8th.

I have bitten off a lot, but am well under way with the main book.

I would love a tiny bit of help from you readers in the form of a two question survey that will help me focus my attention where it is needed. This is just in case I am unable to get to all the planned e-guides (there are 4 for this first launch) as life has a funny way of interrupting our plans.

I am just looking for feedback to gauge which topics I should start with for the e-guides. Answering the survey does not mean you have to buy my books.

Also if you think you might be interested in the book(s)  I suggest you sign up for my newsletter as the August one will go out the week before the launch with a special offer only for subscribers. You will get pre- access to the book at a big discount as a thank you for being a part of my community.

I feel as nervous as I did when I first posted about wanting to start the 52 weeks challenge – way back in 2011! It always feels scary to put yourself out there to face the possibility of standing alone.

If there is one thing I have learned in recent years it is not to let the fear stop me from taking the steps I know in my heart are right for me.

Fear does not need to be overcome or ignored, it just needs to be accepted and then walked through. Therefore, with fear sitting by my side I take the steps.

In advance I thank you for taking 1 minute to answer this 2 question survey for me. Thanks awesome friends!

Find your simple,

Deb xx

Good for you for setting a date (otherwise we let things drag out forever) and yes, feel the fear and do it anyway…

Survey done Deb and so excited for you to be doing your E-book and for holding yourself to the deadline – wow you are living your mantra of getting organised to simpify. I have just started business coaching with a whole bundle of ideas in my head and I need to get organised (and not deflated due to time constraints) to get them going. First step is a simple e-book that will be a gift for subscribing. My first blog anniversary is 17 August, so maybe I’ve set myself that target! I would like to have it ready before Problogger conference – are you going?

Way to go Hun, sounds like you’re well under way. I’ve just done the survey.

Such a gift to give oneself the release of being held back by fear. It’s a beautiful gift I’ve received out of the ups, downs and traumas of the last 5-6 years. I just don’t fear the result anymore, if does exists anymore I guess it’s the fear of not doing something and regretting it.

Keep up the awesome work. X
