Organising with non-traditional items – part four

in Home Life

I am always on the lookout for organising ideas that rely on what you have, upcycled, creative uses for regular things…as you do not have to spend a lot to have great organisation and storage in your home. If you click on the link in the descriptions it will take you to the original pin! If you need an invite to pinterest email me and I will do it straight away.

If you have changed over windows or have a home demolition site, kerbside pick ups, etc:

Shutters make great “pin” boards or mail sorters

Window Chalkboard (and 20 other ideas for old windows)

A couple of ideas for shoe storage:

Bookcases in closet

Crown molding anyone?

A few ideas for the kids:

An art desk

A wardrobe for their dress up clothes from an old dresser

Convert an old cot into a very cool desk

Organising inside and outside the house:

A mailbox for your gardening tools

Recycle an old lotion bottle into a phone charger caddy

Here’s that cot again – use the cot rail as an organising station

Here are links to previous round ups of these ideas:

Organising with non traditional items number one

Organising number two

Organising number three

Find your simple,

That cot/desk idea is just pure genius. And now I’m going to be on the lookout for shutters!

Some really cool ideas there! Wish I had that many shoes to justify putting them on a bookcase :)

I painted a wall in my toilet with chalkboard paint. It looks fab, but is also functional as well. We all scrawl notes, reminders and messages on the wall.

You can’t help but read….and can be a great reminder for things coming up :)

I would love to paint a whole wall with chalkboard paint – hubby thinks the chalk dust would get everywhere though – I am trying to convince him to do magnetic paint and/or chalkboard paint in our 8yo room which is getting a redo in the new year
