in Home Life

I have two big weaknesses in this life – one is handbags (sigh – my true love) and the other is stationery and office supplies (even a new pen can make me happy).

Since I am not a fashion blogger I have slim chances of offering you a giveaway of the latest trendy handbags – sorry.

The good news is my passion for office supplies means you have a chance to win a $100 spending spree at Officeworks – anything you like at all and they have online shopping so no excuses if you don’t live near one of their awesome stores.

Much of the buzz right now is on the Martha Stewart range which is being exclusively stocked at Officeworks – so exciting and gorgeous. Check out a few images above and below.

If turquoise and white (with a splash of red) are not your colours check out the Philosophy range as well. So much colour and beautiful pieces in the range.

As of tomorrow you can also find me weekly on Kidspot writing for “The  Organised Life”  sponsored by Officeworks. I will be sharing useful tips and advice on how you can organise your life.

The giveaway is now closed and the winner (Thaomy) has been notified. Her entry was this one:

“To help my husband get organized. His mail piles on my well-organized table and his paperwork and files resemble the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It really is causing a dent in our marriage and referring to your last blog entry, I’m trying to 1) remember the positive and pause before I react to his clutter, 2) remember what I love about him although the piles of paper makes it very difficult sometimes, 3) live in the moment and try to let go even though the piles stare at me, 4) I think this Officeworks gift card will spice things up for us as I will be really turned on if he starts getting organized and I will be happy to help him. Please help! =)”

I would spend $100 in office works on storage, whether it be folders, a filing cabinet or thingy-ma-bobs to put watchya-macall-its in. After recently turning the spare room from an office into a bedroom (needed the room) we now have to section off a small part of the lounge to become the new office, but am reluctant to do it because I hate clutter. I LOVE office works and they have so many options and solutions. I love stationary so I would have a blast going shopping! $100 in office works would go a long way.

Kate October 11, 2012 at 8:53 pm

I’d absolutely love to deck out our office in turquoise and white or anything in the Philosophy range. We are due to move into our first home in a fortnight and are seriously lacking in neat but aesthetically pleasing office storage and paraphernalia!

Nicole Beltane October 9, 2012 at 8:41 am

we have just moved from Country WA to Tasmania, so i am in the process of getting the new house organised. i love to make lists and sort everything, and i am yet to find some great new stationary to set up a new office area. Would be so much fun to go on a shopping spree. Plus who doesn’t love Martha.

I LOVE Officeworks what a fantastic range of office supplies I need some sort of system to organise my clutter so I can function in my home office. Love the blue of the Martha Stewart range.

Gabrielle Theoclitou October 9, 2012 at 8:46 am

I would give it to my 6 year old to jazz up his desk, to keep him excited about doing his homework. He loves going to Office Works. And hopefully he buys something for his Mumma’s desk too.

Kate October 9, 2012 at 8:57 am

Oh my. Do I need to spend it in one go? That would take me hours… As my office space (a nook in the lounge room) is decked out with turquoise, white and red, I would be hitting the Martha Stewart range!

I am Kate, and I am a stationery freak!

If you took one look in our home office… Storage storage storage. I hate clutter & yet it is everywhere :-( . Need storage badly, & stylish storage would be awesome! Love the Martha Stewart range

Kerri October 9, 2012 at 9:15 am

My 6 year old son has Autism. He also loves art! He is forever after that little something for his next project… And even though we have quite a supply, we still never seem to have on hand what he’s after. It can become an obsession and can totally consume his every waking thought… So if I was lucky enough to win the voucher I would take him on a shopping spree :-) Oh, he would be in his glory! Top of the list at the moment is some yellow or gold card to make a King’s crown.

I would put it towards buying my daughter a new desk for her upcoming 10th birthday. She loves writing and all things stationery :)

Amanda {Adventures and Misadventures of a Mummypreneur} October 9, 2012 at 9:20 am

Oh I would be like a kid at Christmas! As a hopeless stationary-aholic who also gets excited at getting a new pen, I would be looking at getting a couple of the Martha Stewart folders to hold some of my courses and e-books, the gorgeous journal for my blogging thoughts, the pin up folders for my vision board to help keep those goal pictures and post-it-notes safe, a couple of those small storage boxes with the lid to help organise my desk draw and keep the paper clips, staples and other little objects away from my two prying toddlers. Oh I could quite literally go on for hours…think I’d end up going beyond that $100 voucher :)

I would love $100 to spend at Officeworks as I am currently trying to create a message/command centre at home to organise myself and my family. It is so hard to do this living in Tassie with virtually no decent stationery stores to rely on, so the new Martha Stewart range looks perfect. In fact we really only have Officeworks (no Typo!). I am also trying to start up a home business so need to get organised for this. I usually have to rely on sporadic trips to Melbourne to stock up on the good stuff!

By the way Deb, I continue to still think we were separated at birth. I LOVE handbags and stationery and organisation in general!!! Please continue your wonderful blogs and SYL.
Thanks so much :-)

katepickle October 9, 2012 at 9:40 am

oooh Office Works AND Martha!?!?! Does it get any better for us stationary addicts??

If I a had $100 to spend at Officeworks I’d probably spend a good hour or two just walking up and down the aisles drooling over all the stationary, and geeky goodness… and still not be able to decide what to get! LOL

I would spend it finally organising the fabulous officeworks desk that we bought 2 years ago that became a dumping ground for junk. I would love to follow the advice on your blog and since we live on a remote cattle station the online service would be perfect.

Aleesa October 9, 2012 at 9:47 am

Oooh! I would spend on the Martha desk stuff. I’ve just got my own desk space and so far have tried to be practical using what I have. But with the hope (fingers crossed) of doing some work from home I think I deserve to pretty it up some more.

Vicky October 9, 2012 at 9:49 am

I have just moved house, and the area that is my “home office” is in desperate need of a makeover. A $100 from officeworks would be wonderful motivation to get it looking great, and inspiring to work from.

Aroha @ Colours of Sunset October 9, 2012 at 9:58 am

$100 to spend? Where would I start?
Pens, paper, crafts for art?
Envelopes, jump drives, desk storage or ink?
Folders in yellow, black, red and pink.
Maybe a journal or diary to boot,
oh what I could do with all my loot!

….but that’s all dreaming. We really could use a new home office desk, so it would go towards that to help get our spare room/office a bit tidier and more organised as it is wide open to the rest of the unit.
I could spend all day at Office Works. It’s a problem. My husband has started limiting me to ONE PEN every time we go.

I’d do a desk make over, my desk is currently an absolute debarcle. It’s ugly too. I love the matchy matchy at officeworks. I’m sure I could make it a place to enjoy being with that voucher.

oh, $100, all on Martha Stewart goodies for sure… I hope they are going to stock her gorgeous punches, I am in love with her butterfly punch! So I would grab that for sure, then I would make over my desk/sewing/filing… it all needs a good sort out, as it is a huge mess! I have decluttered, then re-de-cluttered again and again. I’m sure if it was pretty I would be more motivated to keep that space lovely….

Chrissie at Me and My Munchkin October 9, 2012 at 10:56 am

I would spend $100 on a new filing system, because mine just sucks! A good filing system is essential and at the moment I kind of have 2 on the go. Need to simplify it to just 1!

LOL – what would I do with $100 ? A better question is probably what wouldn’t I do with $100 ??? I think I would have to invest in some concertina files and lever arch files to replace the copy paper box that we currently use for our bills / tax papers / guarantees.
My favourite stores would have to be Officeworks. kikki.k, Smiggle, Typo – anything stationery orientated can draw me in. A just shakes his head when he sees a stationery store and (I think) often wonders how he can get me away before I go in !!!
Have the best week !

My daughter and I saw the most amazing storage boxes in the Philosophy range at Officeworks. Beautifully made, stackable (a must), sturdy and with an easy grip hand hold for ease of use. These would be brilliant for our present Spring cull, catalogue and clean.

Julie October 9, 2012 at 1:25 pm

Hmm…what would I spend $100 on at Officeworks, let’s see. I would start off with some nice documents holders and boxes to organise my “study” (aka: desk in dining room) so it looks nicer when people are over and not a dog’s breakfast.

I would buy myself a diary for next year along with a nice pen (I love a good pen), and if there’s any money leftover maybe some craft for “Popette” as we love our craft.

$100 would help towards setting up my office storage space – accordion files, some folders for clients work, some large A3 storage containers and some paper and scissors for my little ones to have some fun with too! Will have to go check the range out at Officeworks!

Natalie October 9, 2012 at 2:21 pm

The turquoise *swoon*

I would probably spend the $100 on folders, files, etc to keep my various committee meeting info tidy, as well as a journal to keep in my handbag for quick notes and ideas.

And a turquoise pen.

I just want all the turquoise.

Lisa October 10, 2012 at 6:06 pm

Oh how many ways could I spend $100 in Officeworks?
There is off course my love of stationary- I love pretty and practical notebooks, folders, pens and textas.
Then there is the paper and craft supplies for my Miss 2 to do her artistic pictures with- not to mention creating with sticking and pasting.
Or there is the filling and organisation that I could get stuff to finish.
Oh or there is the white boards I want to buy to keep track of everything my family is up to.

Oh I would love to win $100 Officeworks voucher- I would be in heaven- though I would spend it quickly yet wisely.

Please pick me :)

Ooohhh I just love stationery and my study/office looks more like a kindergarten on both sides (my desk is on one side and the kids is the other) however the whole place looks like a bunch of kindy kids reside there. I would love to co-ordinate and bring some sophistication into my side of the room. I’m a single mother of an 8 and 6 year old so everything revolves around looking after them……it would be nice to get something for myself. I’m a Virgo as well and we love organization!!!

Jane October 10, 2012 at 7:33 pm

I’m swooning, Deb. As a fellow stationery fiend and Officeworks devotee, I was delighted to find out about their Martha Stewart collaboration. Post-its, pens, and paperclips,
Storage draws for the odd bits!
Paper, printer, and pacers too,
My stationary dream come true!
Working in the home office is often quite drab,
But an Officeworks spree would make it look fab!

Thanks so much Deb! Great competition! ;)

suzanne October 11, 2012 at 5:28 pm

To finally organise a office and study in the spare room and purchase, office chair and desk and pens and stationery product. Every home needs a good looking office and study area.

olivia October 11, 2012 at 5:32 pm

I’d buy a whole bunch of stationary & give it all away to parents I know who are struggling. It would help them & excite their kids.

Dannielle October 11, 2012 at 7:00 pm

I would buy an external hard drive! It’s something that I’ve been thinking of getting since my laptop died and I had to take it to a computer shop to have all of my photos extracted, I could then finally organise all of my photos from discs and my current laptop and back them up!

Ms Dianne McManus October 11, 2012 at 7:06 pm

karina w October 11, 2012 at 8:55 pm

I am helping my sister do her wedding invites so $100 would certainly help!

Dee October 11, 2012 at 9:10 pm

A new protective mat to go on the floor beneath the computer chair. It’d help me roll in and out of the study desk with ease, no more frustration.

Diana O October 11, 2012 at 9:12 pm

I would put it towards a 2TB external HD, to give me peace of mind because all my music, photo’s, files and other odds and sods would be stored safely all together in one easy place.

Sonya N. October 11, 2012 at 9:52 pm

It will probably sound ridiculous but I’d probably spend it on coloured paper for my 5-yr-old. She loves doing crafty stuff but she’s exhausted all over colourful supplies and she’s not happy being left with the white paper dregs!

Catherine T October 12, 2012 at 1:21 am

I would spend it on stationary supplies & business cards for my charity “Bundles of Joy Australia” which I started earlier this year. I co-ordinate donations of knitted goods & other baby products into gift bundles and donate them to the Social Work department of my local maternity hospital to go to disadvantaged Mums & bubs in need. Wrapping supplies etc tend do add up so a $100 voucher would go a long way!

Courtney October 12, 2012 at 1:38 am

I would use the voucher to help set myself up for uni next year. I am currently setting the ‘office’ ( small corner in the lounge room ) and need some storage cubes to help me organise my subjects and some new stationery and a notebook sleeve to take during classes!

Lesley Ann Walker October 12, 2012 at 10:05 am

I would spend on Nestle Hot Chocolate, Coffee,Arnotts biscuits & more a happy crew gets more work completed

Sherry Pfeiffer October 12, 2012 at 11:36 am

With two teenagers in high school,
Stationary is part of their life,
Always losing erasers pencils etc,
And getting into strife!

A $100 officeworks voucher,
Which Im free to go and spend,
Would help replace their lost items,
So no more “Muuuummmm wheres my pens!”….

Fiona October 12, 2012 at 4:52 pm

Martha! Martha! Martha!
I would have to spend $100 on Martha Stewart desk accessories. I just found your website after dispairing at the state of my own desk.
I am the mother of 3 children, and most of my time is spent organising them, with little time for myself. So some Martha Stewart desk accessories would go a long way to helping me get organised!

Catherine October 12, 2012 at 5:11 pm

I would spend $100 on pens…you can never have enough pens, right :/

Laura October 12, 2012 at 7:14 pm

I would buy $100 worth of pens and paper! They always go missing in my house and you can never find anything to write on when you need it.

Lesley Fisher October 12, 2012 at 8:06 pm

Troy Simpson October 13, 2012 at 11:29 am

I’d spend the $100 on a thumb drive for my home office. I need *something* to give me some kind of drive around here :/

Thanh October 13, 2012 at 2:22 pm

I am in desperate need of desk organisers! Everything is on top of one another and I can’t seem to find anything underneath the mountains of paper, books etc! It would be really great if I won this gift card =)

Kim m October 14, 2012 at 9:20 am

I would get things to try and get my husband as organised as I would like him to be!!

Jenny S October 14, 2012 at 10:43 am

With 3 kids under 4yrs a trip to Officeworks by myself would be like a much-needed vacation! I’d stroll the aisles in this stationary heaven, picking out pretty coloured pens, handy storage solutions, clever gadgets and gorgeous little office knick-knacks at my leisure… :)

deanna October 14, 2012 at 10:58 am

As a mum of 8 kids i would have to spend it wisely although this time i would probably spend it on myself.A foldaway desk would be handy so i could put it any where i pleased.I think the six foot desk would be sufficient. With the leftover i would get some storage to put my scrapbooking supplies in.Maybe a few files that i could attach to the wall would be nice to keep away from little hands.

gemmie October 14, 2012 at 4:56 pm

So many great items, but as I am in the process of setting up my own small business making hand made toys, bunting, and other fabric goodies, I am always short of storage space! Therefore, a set of these awesome pink Starmaid storage boxes would be in order http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Furniture/Storage/Plastic-Crates/SM16617PK

along with this moveable shelf so I can transfer my goodies from my storage room to sewing room easily! http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Furniture/Shelving/OWSEV3TIER

Carolyn October 14, 2012 at 7:36 pm

I am terrified that I will lose them all one day through malfunction or someone stealing my equipment, and I woud lose all of those precious memories.

I could buy all the things I’ve been meaning to buy forever, but never have the spare money for! I need suspension files to organise my bills and replace my overflowing letter holder. A folder to hold all my important documents and birth certificates would be nice – this all currently lives in my laptop bag. Some more storage for my daughter’s gorgeous creations that she brings home from school – the box she has is overflowing! I need new pens, my partner has taken them all to work with him and lost them, I’m always writing notes with my daughter’s textas! Finally, more craft supplies for the kids, my daughter is intent on teaching my 2 year old son how to paint!

I’m actually graduating uni after this semester, so I’d love to spend it on some new goodies for my study area, to turn it into a Yes I’m Totally a Professional and You Can Trust My Advice area. Maybe a nice inbox, a stationery holder, some classy pens and a whiteboard. :)

Files! They look so ugly at the moments but they are important in keeping my life organised! So would love some pretty ones!

This summer Martha Stewart fresh office accessories in shagreen and blue will invigorate my writing room. A row of files; a drawer of spiral journals and notebooks; a pure white small box like a cloud on my desk. The favourite item? Adhesive metal bookplates so I can re-label files cleanly. Ocean-soft colours… organised. That’s all I need.

Preparing for university is always hard,
but not with a $100 Officeworks card!
Manilla folders, pens and binders,
and post it notes to serve as study reminders!

As a busy full time consultant working in corporate Sydney, challenged to keep on top of a busy life at home (what with cooking and cleaning as well as trying to keep the shape in order, thanks yoga, and completing my masters at night) and looking after my new husband (who works full time and runs a business from home) our home office can often appear almost like a dog’s breakfast. I find pure joy in anything that helps keeping my life in order… especially if its pretty too. Would love to deck out our office in some lovely turquoise hues…so tranquil!

I would use the money towards getting things required to start up my new counselling business. I’m in my last term of study =))

oh gosh, Debra – your opening sentence put such a smile on my face… your two big weaknesses in life are exactly the same as my two big weakness in life. My adult daughter says that my handbag vice is just an extension of my storage vice. And I have to say it’s true. Before I buy a handbag I empty out the store stuffing and ensure all the contents of my handbag can be accommodated an accessed in an efficient way.
I would spend $100 at Officeworks on a high quality printer/scanner that reproduces DOUBLE SIDED so that I can space-efficiently electronically file all my bills/receipts/records – and eventually all my photos. I LOVE the Martha Stewart wall files – very innovative! The accessibility of these make them great for conveniently throwing in daily paperwork/receipts until I get time to scan and electronically file them – then shred the originals on another Officeworks purchase.
